This video won silver awards of the annual Digital Health Awards in 2021, chosen from over 700 entries. This video, which is entirely illustrated for educational purposes, is one of four in a series of videos on diabetes.
It explains what it means to be diagnosed with diabetes and how to live with it and manage it while continuing to live a normal life as much as possible.

 

A common misconception is that a person with diabetes is obese. The story was told from the perspective of an every day, middle-aged male male, neither slim nor obese.

 
 
 
 

Iconography was used throughout the video to demonstrate concepts and steps to take, whether measuring blood pressure or A1C in the body, injecting insulin or when to seek help for medical emergency.

 
 
 
 
 

What happens in the body of someone with diabetes? A fully developed storyboarded illustrations explain medical terms such as neuropathy and what can be done to prevent it.

 
 

The body is illuminated and all the organs, focus on the kidneys and kidney health and potential damage.
