Art Director: Rhonda Rubenstein
Role: Illustration, design
Of my many amazing experiences as a designer, working for the California Academy of Sciences was definitely high on that scale.
Within the beautiful architecture, designed by Renzo Piano, is a 90 ft. glass dome, housing a Rainforest with hundreds of species of animals, insects, plants, and birds; a planetarium debuting world-renowned animated movies by the museum’s team of filmmakers, an underground aquarium with thousands of species of fishes, to name a few wonders that this incredible museum holds.

Finding inspirations was never a difficult task. The museum houses thousands of life species and is surrounded by a greenery that holds many native Californian plants. The roof is “A living roof” and contains only native plants, including many type of costal succulents and wild strawberries to name a few. A pair of hawks became one of new residents found on the roof.
